Last day of school

Yesterday was the girls' last day of school and Hannah's Field Day. They brought their teachers Pizza Hut gift certificates in a pizza box with a paper pizza. They had fun making the pizzas and even spelled out, "thank you" in paper pepperonis. Hannah's Field Day included all of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades. I was there all day to help run two desperate stations outside.  They had a huge parachute, literal word speech in the grass, tire relay race, fishing marbles out of kiddie pools, an egg/spoon race, musical chairs, and Popsicles taste testing center. It was a great way to end the school year. Happy 1st Day of Summer!

Hope's Field Day and Pizza for dinner

Hope had her Kindergarten Field Day today and if your like me: you have absolutely no idea what that means. In Indiana during the last week of school the kids get a chance to burn some engery and play a bunch of fun outdoor games. Hope's  kindergarten class took turns with the other classes playing with the parachute, running relaying with large shoes, over/under game with a stuffed animal, large exercise ball relay and finally a bucket and sponge relay. Hope said the parachute was her favorite. After, swim the girls made pepperoni pizzas for dinner. Yum! Yum!

Slip n Slide

I gave the girls a choice this morning; slip n slide or your choice of park. Guess what they picked? That's right, slip n slide followed by a pink lemonade and home made ice cream break. Then right back into the fray.

Spelling Bowl and The Kiddie 500

What a fun week the girls have had at school. Yesterday, Hannah participated in the 2nd Grade's Spelling Carnival. Each class went from station to station; Hula-hooping, bear crawling and bunny hoping, jump rope jumping, bubble blowing, side walk chalk racing and bean bag toss throwing. All the while competing to spell sight words correctly. Hannah aced it and had so much fun.
Today, Hope raced her car in the Kindergarten's Kiddie 500. Hope's class broke into team's if four to make and design their own cardboard box cars. The entire Kindergarten took turns relay racing in 4 groups of 4 around a grass track outside. What a fun start to our weekend. Happy Memorial Day!

Young Author's Night

The girls each wrote books that they presented today at their school's Young Author's Night. They are awesome!
